What is liposuction?
Liposuction, sometimes called liposculpture, is surgery that removes fat from a specific area through small incisions, using a thin tube called a cannula. It reshapes areas where fat stays despite diet and exercise, such as the abdomen, flanks, back, arms or thighs. It is not a weight-loss treatment, and it does not tighten skin.

Why some liposuction offers cost less
Some advertised liposuction prices leave out anesthesia, the facility, the compression garment or follow-up visits, price a single area as if it were the whole midsection, or run as a special that ends this week. Compare itemized quotes, and ask who performs the surgery, where it takes place and how much fat is planned for each area.

You may be, if you are close to a stable, healthy weight, have firm, elastic skin and don't smoke. ASPS describes ideal candidates as adults within 30% of their ideal weight. Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity, and it removes fat without tightening loose skin. Your surgeon confirms it at an exam.
Liposuction may suit you if

Is liposuction safe?
Serious problems are uncommon when liposuction is done on its own. A study of an insurance database of cosmetic surgery found major complications after 0.7% of liposuction-only procedures, and combining liposuction with other surgery can significantly increase that risk. The most common problem is an uneven contour, and Florida limits how much fat can come out in an office.

How often serious problems happen
In an insurance database of cosmetic surgery, major complications, meaning an emergency visit, a hospital stay or another operation within 30 days, followed 0.7% of liposuction-only procedures. The authors concluded that combining liposuction with other procedures, especially in older patients or patients with obesity, can significantly increase complication rates (Kaoutzanis and colleagues, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2017). A 2024 review of 39 studies and 29,368 patients found that an uneven contour was the most common complication of liposuction, in 2.35% of patients (Comerci and colleagues, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2024). Source

Liposuction can treat the abdomen, the flanks and waist, the back, the arms and the thighs. Lipo 360 treats several of those around the midsection in one surgery. Does the liposuction technique matter?
Clinics often advertise liposuction by the name of a device. What shapes your result more is the plan for each area, how much fat is removed, and who performs the surgery. Most liposuction starts with the tumescent technique: a fluid that numbs the area and reduces bleeding. Ask your surgeon which technique she uses for each area, and why.
What happens on the day of liposuction?
Liposuction at Alluring usually takes 1–3 hours under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, and you go home the same day. Your surgeon marks each area, numbs it with fluid, removes fat through small incisions with a thin cannula, then fits your compression garment.
Before surgery day, your surgeon examines you, reviews your health history and medications, and plans which areas to treat and how much fat to remove from each.

Does the fat come back?
The fat cells liposuction removes don't come back: Cleveland Clinic says the procedure permanently removes them. The fat cells that remain can still grow if you gain weight, so ASPS says results last as long as you keep a stable weight and general fitness.
